The bucket list man

morning

Diary

Today I have decided to share something that is happening right now thanks to the fact that I am doing a research on bucket lists.

In my research I start with a Google search and I find this guy who has a Tedx talk. His name is Trav Bell and he is also called “The bucket list man”. Part of what he does is that he helps people fulfill their bucket lists. Then he also educates in public speaking. The other day I’m listening to “The four hour work week”, written by Tim Ferriss. In the book Tim says that you should not be afraid of contacting celebrities. So I go against my normal patterns of behavior and I sign up for the travelpreneur or e-mail list on his site.

Trav answers me and asks me who I am and if he could help me out in some way. this is my e-mail to him :

Nice to hear from you!

Saw your Tedx talk and I got inspired. Good stuff!

So I’m 40 years young and (Not going public about who I am) but I live in New Caledonia since a year back. Me and my wife sold everything we had took our kids and moved to this tropical island. (My country) is too darn cold, ha ha! My wife has family on the island so for her it’s coming home but for me it’s like I just moved to paradise.

My dad molded me into a construction worker growing up but writing and performing music has always been my get into the Zone thing. I see the move here to NC as an amazing opportunity to really become me and to explore who that is. Started reading up on self development about three years ago and I’m developing tools, rebuilding everything that was destroyed by my rock-star dreams growing up, ha ha!

I surprised myself earlier today when a bar owner on the island contacted me (He wanted me to come and sing at his bar). I said : I can’t come and sing in June. What does your schedule look like in December? I’m going to do a show at your bar, but I’ll be speaking instead of singing. He went quite for a couple of seconds and I continued. It’s going to be like a “Spoken word” thing with pictures on the big screen behind the stage. It’s going to be great. So he said : – Okay, let’s do that!

Now, I don’t have a freaking “Spoken word” show. But I do have the rest of the year to rehears!!!

I’m doing a research on the bucket list thing right now and after I saw your Ted talk I started putting stuff down on a paper. Two days later I book my first speaking show, Wow! (Scary!)

So now you know a little bit who I am. Let’s turn it around a little bit. Is there anything you could help me with?

Take care Trav, thank you for your time!”

So that’s something of a cliffhanger right there. I will keep you ladies and gents updated on what’s happening with “The bucket list man”.

  1. Nice post. I learn some thing a lot more challenging on various blogs everyday. It’s going to usually be stimulating to read content material from other writers and practice slightly something from their shop. I’d prefer to utilize some with the content material on my blog regardless of whether you do not mind. Natually I’ll give you a link on your internet blog.
